The Good, The Bad, and...

Our pre-bed dialogue tonight:

Julian:  "Mommy, there are good news, and bad news."
Me:  "Really..."
Julian:  "Yes.  The good news are, you my best friend."
Me:  "Oh?"
Julian:  "The bad news are, you are not my best friend."

The Way I See It #27

I stopped by Starbucks this afternoon to treat myself to a vanilla latte (my new favourite Starbucks beverage, and my second for the day... naughty).  I enjoy reading the quotes on Starbucks cups, but I particularly enjoyed the one I discovered on my afternoon cup:

"Do not kiss your children so they will kiss you back but so they will kiss their children, and their children's children."
Noah benShea (Poet/Philosopher)

You can also be immortalized on a Starbucks cup by submitting your very own "The Way I See It".

I'm sure to find fame somehow...

Beautiful Boy.

This is my lovely Andrew, when he was just a wee tot.  I love this photo.  The expression on his face is so... him.  Cute, yet intelligent... actually, too intelligent for a child.  When I broke up with the fella I was dating prior to Andrew I told my mom that I was bored, and I wanted a challenge.  Andrew certainly fit that bill... I have never been bored since.

I love you, beautiful boy.  Happy Birthday.

Belly.

Julian:  "I want to be a big brother."
Me:  "You are a big brother, Nora is your little sister."
Julian:  "I want another little sister."
Me:  "Where would you get another little sister?"
Julian:  "At the store."
Me:  "Do you remember where Nora came from?"
Julian:  "Your belly."
Me:  "Do you know where you came from?"
Julian:  "Daddy's belly."

Plop.

Nora has the biggest, plopiest tears you have ever seen.  I'm not sure if it is the consistency of the tears themselves, or the architecture of her cheeks, but when she cries you are sure to find at least one big, fat tear perched on her cheek.  This morning Nora had a bit of a cry at the start of breakfast, and for the remainder of the meal this tear sat on her cheek.  She ate an entire piece of toast, drank a full cup of juice, the tear did not move.  It is truly a wonder to behold.  Don't be sad though, as  you can see breakfast ended in "big smiles".
